We had a room facing the main street and station, which when the windows needed to be open (no air conditioning in our room), it was pretty noisy....when the windows are closed, the double glazing cut's out over 90% of the noise.....but the room was one of the largest I've had abroad, very clean and an excellent bathroom. Clean hotel room, great location across the street from train station. This made it easy for us since we were using Bern as our hub in Switzerland for day trips to Lucerne, Interlaken and the Alps. The room did not have A/C which made it uncomfortable in the afternoons when we returned to the room. The staff is somewhat unprofessional. More

I've stayed at this hotel several times since 2003. It's always very clean and comfortable, but very basic. The room and bathroom is very large for European standards (nice when you want to re-organize your packing). The name of the hotel is a little confusing. On the internet, is Hotel City Am-Banhorf however when I got to this hotel, it was Hotel City. Very easy to find as you disembark from the train station. We reserved a good room but were told the rate was for a weekday and not weekend.
