The hotel staff are very nice. The hotel is getting pretty worn, but the bed was clean and comfortable. The rooms are over-priced by 50% for what they offer--440chf for a junior suite that was an attic room, no AC, and carry your luggage up the stairs. Hotel Belle Epoque is the only small, centrally located hotel in Bern. The hotel is aging gracefully but could use some refurbishments-- new carpets, air conditioning, and new linens. Expensive for what you get. Rooms and corridors are cramped, difficult to find anyone at the front desk when you need them, breakfast not included in the high room rate.
