The walls are unfinished, just raw concrete with a semi painting inside, i had to put my own sheets, ones that look HORRIBLE, bunk beds that woke me up every time i moved while sleeping, one toilet for 12 beds. Lucerne and Switzerland in general are very expensive. I couldn't find anything of value within Lucerne that included an in suite bathroom, so we stayed at the youth hostel. Its quiet, clean and has people of all ages and ethnicities.

It's a 10 minute walk from the main train station. It's on the side of Lake Lucerne opposite the casio so it's not necessarily in the thick of the night life or tourist sights, but it is right next to the lake so its quite quite.
