Beware of this hotel It used to be a Sheraton and may still appear as such in some guide books. No longer. It is now what the Swiss call a sports hotel. That means one notch up from a hostel for teenage skiiers.
To give you a sense of the shortfall in amenities, there was noone to help with luggage transfer. There was no soap, shampoo or facial tissues in the bathroom. There was not even a telephone in the bedroom (so, obviously, no possibility of room service). The front office charges 10 Swiss francs for the key to the room safe. A medium size bottle of Evian in the room is 9 Swiss francs so please do not arrive thirsty. There is no restaurant service at lunch or dinner.
A few positives. Bedrooms are clean and tidy. Buffet breakfast is more than adequate. There is an indoor swimming pool.
Bottom line. The owners are trying to still charge four star prices for what is now two or three star service.
