Historical should be understood as seedy, with much of the (inner/outer) infrastructure either broken or in bad shape. Hotel Schatzalp is situated high on the mountains above the lovely town of Davos. It is reached via a mountain railway which takes about 5 mins. Just got back from a long weekend at the Schatzalp and was very disapointed - if you are skiing then give this place a wide berth. Arriving by car,we dropped our cases off at Funicular and was directed to carpark,some 750m away and at a cost of 20cf a day (no mention of that in there glossies!) Funicular station top... more

The stay at the hotel Schatzalp was wonderful. The hotel is situated 300 meters over Davos with a spectacular view to the mountains, build in historic modern art. Diffrent restaurants: Chees Fondue in the Panoramarestaurant, or traditonal swiss food. At the hotel they offer during lunchtime a very nice BBQ at the Snow Beach terrasse, in the evening french cuisine... more

This hotel is situated 300 metres above Davos at a spectacular location with a truly beautiful view. The building is an imposing Art Nouveau-structure whose historic charme is nicely maintained.
