Small hotel - only 7 rooms - in the center of Locarno. We got room n°7: very nice with Andy Warhol paintings on the walls. Relax and ready to visit Locarno and Ascona (a nice little town not far from Locarno): Close to Piazza Grande this garni hotel Giacometti is what you are looking for a romantic stroll after breakfast... I spent one night with a friend at the Hotel Giacometti, its location is central, the room and bathroom were impeccably clean, the choice at the breakfast buffet fresh and varied, the room price unbeatable and the manager friendly and helpful. We can only recommend it!

I agree with all of the previous reviews, e.g., the owner's awesome, the breakfast is great, etc. So, I'll highlight something important to me: Giacometti is CLEAN. No grime hiding in the bathroom. The linens are spotless. The common area was always tidy. This place is certainly charming and adds to the experience of staying near the Grande Piazza.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Hotel Giocometti. Our room with the balcony overlooking the little via and local houses was just a haven. The owner was so friendly and made us feel as if we were the only ones staying.......he is a gentle elegant man which flows on to the decore of the hotel. We took his advise... More

Our stay at Giacometti was awesome. The room was nicely decorated and cleaned up everyday. The breakfast spread was good. We like the owner very much. He was very helpful and even went an extra mile to get us an international plug. We were very grateful to him. He also recommended us an excellent restaurant call Osteria Borghese. We enjoyed... Privately owned and managed guesthouse tastefully refurbished. The owners (a very friendly couple) strive to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. When the weather is good the breakfast is served in the court yard. The rooms are very nice and clean, the beds very confortable. We were staying in room 1 near the court yard. Only minus: the bathroom... More

We loved staying here. The whole place is charming, the hosts very friendly. Having breakfast outside was lovely. The rooms are individually decorated and super clean. Will come back if I need a place in the Locarno area!

we stayed here for four nights. It is such a change from large hotels.with only seven rooms. We had booked the smallest which is very small and were upgraded to room 1 without charge. There is a large bed, comfortable armchair, table and chairs and a small ensuite bathroom. Windows on both sides look onto the street and the courtyard... More

We found the Hotel Giacometti by reference from the Tourist Office in Locarno (from the train station, head towards the lake and veer right- the office is in the foyer of the Casino). The family owned Hotel Giacometti is period building in the old town about 10 minutes walk from the train station. The hotel has recently refurbished-having been a... More

we staied in Locarno for the "Moon and Stars" concerts. We saw Pink, Jamiroquai and Steve Wonder. This hotel is located right in the old town, there's a little family owned shop right outside the entrance that has all kinds of food and stuff, there's an amazing little tea shop owned by a "ton of fun canadian guy" and you...
