This place was a pleasant surprise. We stayed only one night as we were making our way back to Geneva. Too bad we didn't stay longer. The hotel is in a great location, just a 10 minute walk to train station. The room was a great size for a family of four. Best of all, they had a family room... More

The hotel was clean and comfortable, with excellent food (we were on half board). The hotel was well positioned for the train station, town centre and lake. However, it was also positioned on a very busy, noisy road which made sleeping extemely difficult. We stayed during an very hot, humid period. Our room was at the front corner of the... More

My Husband and I stayed at the Albergo Camelia in Locarno for a week at the end of August and found the hotel to be far beyond our expectations. The breakfast buffet was very good and the Half Board supplement we paid (through Kuoni) was excellent value for a 4-Course evening meal. Our twin room was on the top floor... More

We stayed here as our 3rd resort on Kuonis Lakes of Switzerland holiday. We had a great journey to Locarno from Lucerne on the William Tell Express - sailing the length of Lake Lucerne and then travelling on by train. We arrived in blistering heat, and the hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the station. Not a good choice... More

After reading the reviews my partner and I booked this hotel. The hotel itself was ok, nothing out of the ordinary. Our room was very small and the dark hallway to the room made it feel like we were in a prison (not that I have ever been!!). The bathroom was small with only a shower and the sink was... More

Unfortunately I only ended up spending one night at the Camelia, but I wish it had been longer. My room had a large, private balcony overlooking the garden, which was great for reading at night. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel had a welcoming feel to it. Although I didn't get to use it, the hotel had a... More

The Albergo Camelia is a charming hotel within walking distance of the Locarno train station. Our room was big, with a nice balcony overlooking the garden where you can have breakfast and dinner. The garden is just lovely -- in June it was filled with hydrangeas of all colors. Breakfast was ample. I would recommend having dinner from the menu,... More

We spent 3 nights at this hotel in August and found it very good; we had a triple room with balcony and paid around 180 CHF a night which I felt represented pretty good value for money in Locarno. The room was reasonably spacious, very clean with comfortable beds and we found the owners friendly and helpful. It's only about... More

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel last September (2003). This hotel was very modern and clean, and the views from our room were fantastic. The room was small but adequate and we shared the shower on the top floor, which didnt bother us at all. Breakfast was very tasty, and the owner/manager was a very... More
