After many years of staying in two excellent hotels outside the city centre, The Okura and The Hilton, my business needs are now requiring me to stay in the canaĺ zone. So I chose and booked an old haunt of ours, The Pulitzer, for two consecutive stays totalling 6 nights in two rooms. My review concerns the aggregate of my... More

The Pulitzer is wonderful. It's 25 old Amsterdam houses converted into a luxury hotel. When people say its a bit dated its really not, it's just not a modern aesthetic. The location is perfect since its by Jordaan, a great pocket of Amsterdam with a lot of locals and away from the equivalent of Amsterdam's Time Square, but only 10... More

This was our second time in Amsterdam, and at Pulitzer. The staff is very friendly and polite, helpful and charming. Bed quality excellent and we slept extremely well. This time we had a executive room that was a little bit more larger than the canal street room we had last time. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices.... More

I have stayed at the Pulitzer for 3 nights and had a Deluxe Room canal view. My room was at the lowest level (I think was second floor) and was the last room of the corridor. The most disappointing thing was the bathroom, I couldn't stand up straight when taking the shower because the ceiling was so low...the room was... More

Located in a great part of Amsterdam... Rooms looking over the canal give this hotel a great sense of charm and a little taste of being a citizen of Amsterdam. Lots of niceness here... friendly and helpful concierge, great courtyard to relax in, comfy rooms etc.. A different style to other SPG luxury hotels, but highly recommended for easy access... More

I stayed here once before, in the early seventies. I was overawed at that time. Now, it's largely as I remembered, but looking rather tired. Floors in bedrooms are wooden, and even though we are on 4th floor, people above sound like they've put on their newly purchased Dutch clogs. Rooms are smallish, but big enough. Shower is the over... I stayed here for a 2 night trip. Sadly, I had a room on the first level (same as street - I was told it was completely sold out, and I was surprised as a Gold starwood member to be given a room on first level.) The hotel is overall very nice and charming, and extremely friendly staff. And the... More

Fine hotel, try room #360 which is a so called executive room for a little more space. The fact that the hotel consists of 25 former canal houses gives it its charm. The only down side I would say is the fact that parking is an issue. Parking garage is 10 minute walk.

I loved this hotel for it's cozy ambiance ... it is a collection of canal houses all joined together , some by glassed in walkways that look into pretty , landscaped courtyards ... it is a bit of a maze to work your way through the hotel as a result but that's part of it's character & charm . Very nice, very comfortable, great staff, great location. Our room was a little quirky (elevator up, then a flight or two up), but very nice. Bathroom nice (although a tad small). Doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel, but I mean that as a compliment. Very nice service, accommodations, etc, but relaxed and not fussy or uptight.
