My first trip to Amsterdam was one where we will be back. The hotel was clean, comfortable and small enough where you get to meet other guests. We had room 17 on top floor away from street. Very quiet and restful. I loved the narrow steep steps typical of Amsterdam. Keeps you in shape. Breakfast consisted of bread, meat, cheese,... More

Clean, comfortable and location, location, location!! Near all the gay hot spots and (for Amsterdam!) it's still pretty inexpensive. The breakfast is nothing to write home about but it's a great way to meet other people staying at the hotel! We love the Golden Bear!

Really clean and comfortable hotel with friendly staff and good breakfast. Yes the stairs are steep, but this is common with all original Amsterdam Town Houses. Excellent location!!!! Close to a range of restaurants to suit all tastes, along with been close to bars and clubs. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

The breakfast was disgusting and not fulfill. The treatment of the staff was terrible and even one day they stool our bag and they return it just after 2 days without any explanation. Small and stinky room. Everything was BAD BAD BAD. I will never return to this hotel/horehouse.

The location was great. Close to many gay bars and the sauna. Walking distance to Van Gogh and Rijks Museums and the Vondelpark. I flew into Amsterdam from Canada and when I made my reservation I stated that I would arrive in the city in the morning and if coming to the hotel would be a problem. I know the... More

we stayed at the golden bear for 5 days for me to have a birthday in amsterdam. Lovely gay hotel but the stairs are steep, so don't go taking a very large suitcase unless you are strong! nice clean rooms, very helpful staff and a nice continental breakfast till noon. i would stay there again without hesitation, you are close... We got a friendly welcome and had fun climbing flights of narrow, winding stairs. A nice big room, clean and warm, with fridge, kettle, tea and coffee and a great big bed. Good breakfasts with toast, cheese etc. The hotel is in a great location, near the tram but away from noise and easy to walk everywhere. Would stay there... More

The Golden Bear Hotel is in a charming old Amsterdam building with steep stairs that turn as you go up, no elevator. The rooms are nicely furnished and clean with comfortable bed. The heat works well. Some rooms have ensuite baths while others share toilet/shower in hallway. I don't mind sharing since the facilities are clean and the price is... More

The Golden Bear is in a very good. convenient location, situated moments away from a good shopping street and 3 tram lines and within walking distance of many sights, although it is discretely sited up a quiet side road. We stay here whenever we visit Amsterdam as we know we will get a clean and comfortable stay. The staff are... More

This hotel i very well located, close to transport, 7 minutes from Dam square with the tram and in an area with nice restaurants and shops. Rooms were clean, warm and enough big. Nice breakfast with a very happy and funny receptionist.
