Selecting a hotel in a large, foreign city can be a dizzying experience. I didn't want to rough it or pay top dollar, but I did want a location convenient enough to explore downtown without using public transportation. The Welcome Hotel met all of these needs. It even had the charm of being a small, family-run affair where the rooms... More

The major draw for me for this hotel was the location. You can't ask for a better location as a tourist, especially at what I considered a very reasonable rate. I felt safe and the room was functional. I think the passion that the hotel owners have in traveling and decorating the themed rooms is neat. Our room was small... More

Michel and Sophie have managed to do the impossible: create a wonderfully creative, high quality, "funky" hotel that surely deserves 5 stars. There are no room numbers, just theme names ... we stayed in the Morocco Room. It's a small place (only 17 rooms), is perfectly located in the city with lots of fun bars and restaurants nearby, serves a... More

We stayed 4 nights in this charming and exotic hotel, perfectly situated in a quiet neighbourhood, close to all historic sites and numerous restaurants, buses and metro stations. Large room for Europe. The owners, Michel and Sophie, were most helpful and even offer transportation to and from the airport. Michèle D.

Dear mich_le_d_12_12, As you do very rightly pointed out, the rooms are on average smaller in the Old Continent This is why we give the average size of each type of room in our room discriptions Many thanks for your comments. Michel More

Great location and friendly staff. The location is excellent and there are very nice restaurants just around the corner, and a cool club with jazz and swing music just beside the hotel. Rooms are charismatic, but small, and cleaning could be better. Service could also be better - wifi didn't work though we mentioned this three times to the staff.... More

It helped that we were upgraded to a suite, the Silk Road! Largest hotel room I've ever seen in Europe, with a giant bathroom. Very friendly staff. Excellent location, easy walking distance to the Grand Place but without the craziness. Marvelous restaurants in the immediate neighborhood. Convenient metro stop right out front. Very nice breakfast. Truly special.

Stayed 7 days during a business trip, wanted to stay another 7. The unique rooms made it seem as if the bedroom was "my room" rather than a clone of many. The sense of individuality and care provided by real people, not androids, transformed an otherwise exhausting trip into a very pleasant experience. My office was near the airport and... More

Je viens de rentrer chez nous! This was my 3rd visit and again I was especially convinced by the helpful and kind service, giving for instance perfect advise where to find a delicious lunch just around the corner.

Thought we'd try something different on our trip to Brussels and booked a room at the Welcome Hotel. We loved it!! We had the "India" room. Just wish we could have seen all the other rooms, although I did take pictures of many of the room doors and the "travel" signs pointing the way to the rooms! No room numbers... More
