There were no surprises - the room looks exactly as at the photo. It is spacious and comfortable. The bathroom is new. Only few minuses; first day I felt smell of cooking trough the corridor and in my room, plus odd smell (like from sewerage sistem), maybe from the bathroom during first day, but when I opend the window it... This was without doubt the worst B&B that I have ever stayed in. Why someone would choose to set up a B&B next to a tram stop, on a bus route directly in front of a 24 hour snack restaurant is beyond me. The trams stop at midnight and start again at 6AM. That would have been ok had it... More

Went there for the weekend, and it's the nicest B&B I've ever been to. Very big and well decorated rooms, the owner is friendly and always wiling to help you and give you advise to move around this wonderful city, and the breakfast was just amazing, the most compete breakfast you could think of. The location is also pretty good,... More

I made a reservation in this B&B through Booking.com, well in advance, relying on positive reviews there and here. We were coming from Brussels and planned to stay for one night of May 7, 2012. First thing we noticed from the car was that the building was right on the road, rather on a very busy intersection. We were not... More

Ideal location and a bit quirky. Don't let the lack of storage space, badly fitting curtains, tepid shower and a bit of street noise in the massive front bedroom put anyone off enjoying the Bijloke experience. Very good breakfast of eggs, cheeses and jams with plenty of breads and coffee, well served by the helpful staff.

The B&B was fabulous. I had never stayed anywhere like it. The price was very decent. It was modern but very cosy with Thai influences. The living room/ dinning area was very spacious with floor length windows. Our host Peter was very friendly and gave us a choice to which room we wanted to stay in. we choose the attick... More

Beautiful apartment, stylishly renovated by Peter, our host, who was extremely friendly and helpful. He recommended 2 excellent restaurants for us. The only downside was the traffic noise, but that was a small quibble. We would love to return at a later date to see what other improvements he has made.

We stayed here for four nights for our firs wedding anniversary, when I booked there were no reviews avaiable as the B&B was recently opened but it looked lovely so took a chance. On arrival my husband looked at me as if to say 'why have you brought me here' as the exterior doesn;t look like anything much, however internally... More

We stayed here for one night with two persons. The B&B is easy reachible by tram from the train station (Gent-St. Pieters) and you could walk or take the tram to the city center. However, walking right to the center takes more than two minutes, rather 15 or 20. The owner really is very nice and helpful, definitively speaks more... More

B&B De Bijloke is a riverside converted 19th Century style town house with both serviced apartments and self contained rooms. Operated by a most welcoming host speaking fluent English, the B&B provides you with an experience of gentrified living in Ghent, the one time capital of Flanders and Early Medieval times' second largest city North of the Alps. Think high... More
