We stayed here over bank holiday weekend, and although it wasn't first choice (the small central hotels fill up quickly!) it worked well. We booked a standard room, and found it to be clean and comfortable with a view of the Belfort. It was on the second floor of the hotel and a good size for two, although bathroom was... More

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights over november/december 2010 and were extremely impressed. We have stayed in Bruges many times invariably at the Best Western Navarra which although nice is quite pricey. The Karel de stoute hotel however is as nice and in as good a location for a third of the price - how do they do... More

What a fantastic long weekend we had at this hotel/B&B. Perfect location being central yet just off the beaten track so lovely and quiet. It is a perfect little hotel/B&B Id recommend to all. Decor is lovely, and bar downstairs is just georgous. Owners, Daphne and Winke are really lovely. Winke (who happens to speak all languages fluently! ) directed... More

This is clearly a budget hotel and is really overdue for some work, but it suited our needs just fine. On the map it doesn't look central, but it is only a five minute walk from Market Square and away from the noise. The breakfast was good with bread, cheese, meat, and cereal. I had a large room on the... More

This hotel can boast an interesting history (was formerly owned by either Charles the Bold or a relative), a nice breakfast, lovely wooden touches, nice rooms, and a great manager. We stayed during the ash crisis so things were quiet, and the hotel staff took time to answer all of our questions about the surrounding area, sights to see, food... More

My daughter and I booked in for one night at the Hotel Karel de Stoute, thank Goodness. The room was so awful that we walked around in the pouring rain until 11pm so we didn't have to return to it. The only reason we stayed was because we had only booked for one night and the sheets were clean. The... More

We've done a long trip around Europe, visited 8 countries and more than 20 cities, but Karel de Stout is the best hotel we stayed in. We decided to stay there for another one night immediately. At the morning the owner (Winke) met us in the dining room with the glass of fresh squizzed orange juice. There was a lot... More

the host is friendly, the breakfast is great, and its only a few minutes away from the city center. It would have been excellent if this hotel has a wifi and elevator. More

We enjoyed our two night stay at Karel de Stoute. The building dates from the early 1400's and much of the wood work in the hotel is reputed to be original. The staircase and the huge wooden beams in the ceiling are obviously ancient and lend a very authentic aire to the property. BUT, the furnishings in the rooms do... More

Walked in without any knowledge and could not have found a better place or better people. Would certainly stay here again, 5 minutes walking to everywhere, supper quiet street, block away from a fabulous church. Very friendly owners, great breakfast, very neat and authentic cellar bar.... Would absolutely recommend to anyone. Large rooms, very clean, large bathrooms... did I mention... More
