I stayed in Hotel Academie for two nights in mid-December 2011. The rooms were clean and spacious and the building itself was very modern - above average, I'd say, for a four star hotel in the city centre of Brugges. The view from the room was breath-taking: looking out upon houses that had been standing for as long as the... More

This hotel is in a great location!! It is not right on the square so the restaurants around it are a lot less expensive with great food! Our room was nice and clean with an excellent bathroom. This was one of the quietest rooms we've stayed in. More

I stayed in hotel Aademie for three nights during December 2011. The rooms were clean and very modern with what you would expect from a 3/4 star hotel in a city centre. The hotel is in a fantastic location, walking distance from the centre of the city and the train station. I paid €225 for three nights which represented good... More

Great hotel in a good location close to the main square and belfort tower (only a few mins walk away). It is quite a basic hotel but it was clean and the room was quite spacious. Unfortunately the breakfast was awful. Disappointing most food in Belgium is excellent, but it was all tinned fruit, concentrated juice etc and very little... More

We hardly ever travel with a tour company and so normally we book our own hotels direct but because of the logistics of getting to Bruges from Ireland we booked a package that included our transfers to and from the hotel. Otherwise I doubt if we would have ended up at the Academie as it clearly caters for tour groups.... More

We normally travel by car to Bruges just before Christmas but this time we decided on an escorted tour just to get a better understanding of Bruges' history and to visit the battlefields of Flanders. So the hotel was chosen for us by our tour operator. The hotel was in a quiet location, it was basically clean but a littled tired.... More

We stayed at the Academie in Bruges during our trip with Trafalgar Tours. We asked them about the "internet" and we seemed to be bothering them. When they said that we had to bring our lap top to the reception area to use it, we said that we didn't bring our lap top. They never offered or advised us that... More

Romantic, authentic hotel. Our modern, renovated room was beautiful and very clean, granting a view over a small alley and historic buildings (not blocking the view). Carriages came by regularly, making you feel back in time (though with the luxury of present times). It was silent during the night and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was nice, though not... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in October in Room 205. The room was at the end of a corridor so very little noise from others passing by or banging doors etc. which can often be a problem. The hotel is situated in the centre of Bruges, which in itself is very pretty and not too busy when we went.... More
