Located right where you want to be in the center of it all . the hotel is clean with old charm and modern amenities to bring you into the modern age. the food was great but we preferred to wander into the local coffee shops and restaurants. not a perfect hotel but the charm overcomes any defects one might find... We came to Grao Vasco after a week at the ultra-modern Sheraton in Lisbon. It was a little bit of a shock. It's an older hotel for sure. The decor is dark and there is a lot of wood. We were with a group of about 20 people to attend a wedding. All of the rooms are the same size,... More

...but it's not any more. You can see that it had a time of splendor by the décor, by the building itself and by the names associated with it (they say Amalia Rodrigues and even some foreign Princesses and Princes stayed in it). But now it's all old and rusty, with dark interiors and stains in the walls of the... More

This is an old hotel but the rooms are large and well set out. The room we had overlooked a reasonably sized pool that looked well maintained. The breakfast was adequate and if 'food' is your thing there are any number of restaurants nearby. The hotel is centrally located and there are any number of shops and supermarkets within walking... Our hotel (Grao Vasco) is old, yet full of charm. Right in the center of town and very easy to find near the Praca da Republica. Parking on site and easy check in. Our room is very large…lots of space between the beds and a nice balcony which looks out the back and towards the pool. Big, sliding glass doors... More

This hotel is reasonably attractive and in the center of Viseau. The rooms are nice in a fairly traditional style. There is an outdoor pool but no sauna or spa, which makes is expensive for 75 Euros a night.

We were on a 2 and a half week tour with my sister-in-law, drove into Viseu without booking rooms in advance. Fortunately the tourist information was open. After the young lady recommended some hotels, we noticed one across the street. She suggested we check it out, look at the rooms. Which we did. Our rooms were excellent, overlooking the garden,... This is a 4*-hotel with characteristics of 4* in the 19xx's! A lot of dark wood, red carpet, brass and silver, cream coloured tiles in the bathroom. It's not what I like, but it is nevertheless a fine hotel: good location (if you arrive by car, follow signs for tourist office, because they are just opposite (and have free car... More

The Hotel is located in Viseu a town in center-north of Portugal. The building has an architecture near the 50's and 60's style, that is very "solid" and heavy. The rooms are enough good but show the age of the hotel and in a certain way are old fashioned. But in practical terma they have all confort. The same old fasioned... More
