Quite simply probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in. Astonishing value for such a wonderful building and character. The library and balcony were so lovely. Superbly comfortable bed and room and excellent breakfast an coffee. Service attentive and efficient at all times. Yes it really deserves more than 5 stars!

A small, charming and friendly place in which you can just about imagine yourself pleasantly ensconced in the 19th century. (The bathrooms however are entirely modern.) Stayed for 3 nights in Lisbon to celebrate my birthday. This is a perfect hotel. Beautiful old building, filled with an eclectic mix of antique furnishings and decor. Rooms were well proportioned with plenty of storage, bathroom was large and well equipped, including bathrobes and slippers. Staff were most helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
