We stayed here for two nights and loved being in the old part of the city. It's a little steep and there's a lot of graffiti but don't be put off. The hotel is beautiful inside and we had a terrace with a fantastic view overlooking the city. Our room was large and had lots of facilities including tea and... More

We stayed here in April 2013 for 2 nights. It's a great location with a good view and our standard room was charming and comfortable with a terrace and wooden recliners. There was also a minibar and kettle/tea and coffee (and complimentary port). The staff were unfailingly helpful and welcoming. It's also quiet since it is located right at the top... More

What a lovely room with a very nice, very large paved terrace with wooden recliners and table, four steps going up at the end and little trees planted either side to give a little privacy from neighbours. I would have spent a lot of time out there had the weather been better. We had tea and coffee making facilities, biscuits,... More

It was a pretty exciting taxi ride from the airport up the winding streets to this hotel in the old Alfama district. Once you walk through the doors you are welcomed and have a great place to recover from jetlag and explore. The breakfast was wonderful with those tasty pastries, and the staff was helpful.

This is a lovely boutique hotel and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The staff are attentive and helpful without being intrusive, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are elegant and comfortable. Situated just below the Castelo de Sao Jorge, the views over the city to Santa Luzia are marvelous. There is even a little tram from the centre... More

This hotel was a very enjoyable stay. Breakfast was delicious, provided every morning. I recieved complimentary port wine. The staff was very helpful in securing transportation and reservations. They only negative experience I had was that during my stay, the hotel's WI-FI internet was down. By the last night, the problem was resolved, by 3/4 nights I was without internet... More

Located just beneath the castle, the hotel offers romantic views over the old city and, if you hapen to have a room with one of the wonderful terraces, you'll get the sights and (distant) sounds of this great city. The centre is a 10-15 minute downhill walk through some of the oldest, most charming and interesting neighbourhoods of the city.... More

The rooms were large, clean and very comfortable. We also had a very nice view of the city below. The staff, especially the folks at the front desk were exceedingly nice and very helpful. While the location may be off putting for some we found it to be perfect. Close to the Castelo and enough local restaurants to keep us... More

My wife and i visited here in sept 2010 as a birthday treat for her. We loved the location and were given recommendations from a very friendly girl at the reception. This is the kind of hotel you never forget not only for its good location near the castle, but the very friendly service we received. Don't know if that... More
