“Relaxing break in tranquil and beautiful surroundings”

Casa Velha was originally a hunting lodge on the Palheiro estate. It is now an elegant country house hotel. For garden lovers there is free entry to the lovely Palheiro Gardens next door. “Charming hotel in quiet location”

Charming hotel close to Golf course. The garden rooms downstairs are a little bit dark and have no view ( no terrace or balcony) like souterrain...the terrace is nice and the service friendly. You need to have a rent-a-car behause it is far away from downtown and other dining possibilities...

This small and comfortable hotel with a spa, indoor and outdoor pools was a happy find. The staff are efficient and extremely helpful and the food was mostly very good. The hotel is in a very quiet area above Funchal and the rooms are very nicely decorated with period furniture.
