Holet is located on a very central but the room quality is middle to low.. Since Porto has a mild climate rooms have only air conditioner an in cold winter days it causes a very dry room temperature..Bathrooms are also not very well maintained.. more

The location is the main advantage of this hotel. The exterior architecture of the building is also interesting on a historical point of view and the interior is quite unusal. However if you decide to book a room in this hotel don't expect anything extraodinary about the rooms and the service offered. The bathrooms are not always very confortable. I... more

Dos Aliados ? Does that mean "the sleepless ones " ? This is the noisiest hotel room I've ever stayed in - you need to be profoundly tired or profoundly deaf to sleep here. And no double glazing, even though the room looks onto a large cobblestoned square that carries non-stop traffic, scooters, buses, etc at all hours. Our windows actually shook... more

Okay so this place has never sold itself as The Savoy but for £60 per night what would you expect. Our room was comfortable, clean and the hotel itself is in a good location, for the price we could not have expected much more. Breakfast was acceptable and included in the price, tea/coffee, juices, cereals and croissants, enough to start... more

Loved the location but the room was dumpy at best. Itty Bitty TV, great view and the AWFUL bathroom. The bathroom was a step up, but when you stepped in the bathroom the floor board was broken so you felt like you were falling through the floor. The bathroom was also super small, you had to step into the shower... more

I visit Portugal every year (family-live in the Serra Estrela Mountains) but Porto is my fave city and always try to visit it before I go back to the US-found Residencial Dos Aliados on the internet. It looked great-the price was even better. IT IS NOTHING LIKE THE INTERNET-NOTHING! For 3 people (50 Euros) I have to say it was... more

Great location but hotel and rooms do not look as nice as on website. The reception staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is terrible, hardly anything on offer and not friendly service. You have to pay for internet and they do have wi-fi but it costs 1.25 euro for 15 minutes! Although the location is great, it is... more

28 Dec 2008 | Trip type: Business

The hotel is in an old building, in the very heart of Porto. We found it very cheap for such a central place, maybe also because it was off season. You can easily get to the city centre by foot, train and subway stations are all within walking distance. This is certainly not a business hotel and, as has been... more
