5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2013 NEW

We stayed five nights and very pleased. Reception and staff were excellent. The room was facing the front street, quiet, clean and in good condition. Bathroom was a little small. Breakfast was a cold buffet type but very good. No porters to handle suitcases. Lift was small could just fit two people and suitcases. Sister hotel - Herodion five minute... More

We normally stay at the sister hotel - Herodion - simply because of the rooftop view and the breakfast is marginally better. But we had stayed at the Philippos before and enjoyed it and so were not displeased when the Herodion was fully booked. We had a nice room, looked as if it had been recently refitted and and quite... This hotel is in a great location. It's about 2 blocks away from the Acropolis Museum, the Metro stop, and plenty of restaurants. Our first room was awesome! It was a decent size and had a balcony view of the Acropolis. The room we stayed in at the end of our trip was much smaller - ok a bit cramped... More

We spent four nights at this hotel. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable hotel in a quiet neighborhood right near the Acropolis, this is the place to stay. Though the rooms are a bit dated, the beds are very comfortable, and the place is kept very clean. The bathroom is small but adequate. Breakfast is more than adequate, and... More

right at the hart of athens, main atractions just a walk away. Nice people, affordable, great location, two minutes to the new acropolis museum, the acropole, plaka and monasteriki right ahead, adrian gate and olimpos on the right, a five minute walk. Simple but very good breakfast. Taxis always nearby if you need one. Metro station two minutes walking.

This is a great little hotel in the heart of the historic city, close to the acropolis and the museum, platka and the metro. The rools are small, but ours had a view of the acropolis. The staff is great and they really want to assist you and make your visit to the city enjoyable. The owners operated a more... More

The Hotel Philippos is lovely - friendly staff, good breakfast, fantastic location (perfect for sightseeing), and with very comfortable beds. We had a big balcony too, with a partial view of the Acropolis. All good. However it is billed as a four star hotel and I'd say given the room is quite small and the facilities are limited (and a... " Nicest people" and "charming hotel" are very genuine and spontaneous comments and we are grateful for posting such a review on tripadvisor. We also appreciate you beautiful impressions from our adjacent Herodion hotel after your visit to our new roof top terrace restaurant bar Point A which welcomes guests from both Herodion and Philippos from 19:00. We hope we... More

My husband and I stayed for a five days visit to Athens for leisure and work. The hotel had an excellent location just few meters of Acropolis Museum and metro station. Quiet and safe neighborhood. Good services, clean and polite staff. Rather old furniture.
