I thought this was a wonderful hotel in a great location and so I am puzzled by the bad reviews. I did speak with one of the hotel staff about the upcoming renovation (they are closing June 1, 2011) and he did say that some rooms are much better than others. I don't think the owners have invested 1 penny in this hotel over the last 5yrs. Rooms are tired and bedding is just above that of a nice youth hostel. Our entire floor smelled horrible and the "spa" smelled like a toilet. Other than location, this hotel doesn't have one redeeming quality. More

The room was very old in all respects, the sheets were burst, very bad old odor, uncomfortable pillows and tight very soft beds with springs that are almost getting out from the mattress. What a great location, but its really a 3 star hotel, very old and run down, clearly staff are not the best, indifferent mostly, with 1 or 2 exceptions. Will come again once its renovated though, because the location is the best. More
