Nice place with good food. We came late one evening, the restaurant was busy but the host fixed us tables. A typical Danish Kro. Quite simple rooms, but all you need, small terrace outside each room. Friendly host, good beds.
We found the Osted Kro in Frommer's Denmark guide, and we kept saying to one another that we couldn't believe Frommer's would list a place like this (even though they do so with faint praise).

Tried several times to contact via their FAX (they are not email capable) but no answer, so I finally had to phone them . . . not very convenient. Best described as a "country inn" with a location, 20 minutes south of Roskilde, that is a bit out of the way for Roskilde bound tourists but not a big inconvenience....

The Osted Kro is a lovely inn in Osted, Denmark, very close to Roskilde. It is hosted by a great staff and a world class chef. We were there for a wedding which took place in their larger salon. The food was beyond description and the presentation and service were wonderful.
