I think this is a converted warehouse, given the large goods-style lift, and the communal kitchens on each floor, bare corridors and room did make it feel more like a hostel. I can only second the other reviews of this being a hostel more than a hotel. It is located in an industrial area right next to the highway - hardly very charming.
