We spent three nights at Hotel Cabin and agree with many of the comments already posted. Rooms are small and space is limited, but they are clean, towels are replaced each day and there is space under the beds to stow suitcases. Hotel staff were pleasant and happy to book excursions etc on our behalf. We arrived back quite late... More

Hotel within 10 minute walk of Reykjavik town centre. Choice of facilities including optional Wi-Fi, tour guide bookings, bar and good variety at meal times. The guest rooms certainly live upto the hotel name, being appox 10 x 8ft! Cleaning staff are lackadaisical with little attention to detail when cleaning the room. On more than one occasion our beds were... More

No further from central Rayjkavik than the Hilton or the Grand the hotel cabin offers very reasonably priced accommodation with B&B and the option to use the "salad bar" for evening meals too. The rooms are clean and well pepared. Although ours looked out over the bus garage this wasn't an issue. Some rooms have windows only on to the... More

They say you get what you pay for and this is exactly that. Rooms are small (but i have paid more and stayed in smaller eg Hotel SO in New Zealand) but perfectly fine. The sheets were clean, bed was comfy and bathroom was clean too. Seen as your more than likely there to see Iceland not the inside of... More

Most of the other reviews have said it but useful to reiterate: this is a good value hotel in an expensive city. On the downside, the standard rooms are small. Even with 2 people you keep bumping into each other. And the hotel is a mile or so outside the centre of Reykjavik which means that external facilities, particularly restaurants,... More

There are three standards of accommodation and we stayed in the mid-range with was the Deluxe rooms. These are simple twin bed rooms with small seating area and a shower, bath and toilet. The room was clean and simply decorated. We had to turn off the heating off as the room was hot even with the window open and a... More

I could pretty much sum up the Hotel in the one word "Basic". A standard twin room gets you two twin beds, a small desk and chair in between, Half a wardrobe, 14" colour telly, shower/toilet/washroom, and not a lot else. The staff are very friendly, and speak excellent English. Breakfast doesn't really provide you with much in the way... More

I agree with most that has been said here, Staff friendly, small but adequate rooms, linen clean etc. However I would not book excursions via the Iceland Air site as they are to be found cheaper in the hotel, ask for advive form the knowledgable staff, We saved 2850ISK each on Blue Lagoon via Bustravel.{thats £16 each} all operators pick... My friend and I stayed at the Hotel Cabin as part of a Northern Lights weekend package she'd booked with IcelandAir. We had booked a basic twin room and were not disappointed. I expected something basic and clean and that is what I got. The room was very small but perfectly formed, with two comfortable beds, a TV and an... More

Myself and my wife were accompanied by my daughter and son-in-law. We found that in the Cabin Hotel the rooms are cabin size (approx 8 feet x 8 feet) and walls are 'paper-thin'. Luckily we didn't have noisy neighbours but my daughter and son-in-law staying farther down the corridor did. On complaining, the staff were most helpful and spoke with... More
