Nice hotel, a little run down, but friendly staff who try to help when they can. Barkeeper told me some good stories. Not a luxury hotel like it once was, maybe 100 years ago! For food, I'd avoid the hotel and go to Pepino's at Spinola Bay. For rooms, have a look first because some face the street in a... More

We loved every minute of our time at the Imperial Hotel, right from our friendly initial greeting and welcome by Chantel at reception, through to our fond farewells with individual staff members. The Hotel is ideally situated, being in easy walking distance in almost every direction, affording various access routes either to rocky exposed sea front, sheltered cove, dramatic harbour... More

Stayed for 8 days in October and would not stay again. Yes the downstairs entrance is lovely and the garden area calm, pretty and sheltered. Airconditioning was noisy but worked well. Bedrooms had nice high cellings and the cleaning staff did an excellent job in a poorly maintained hotel. Floor tiles chipped as was the wood on the wardrobe. No... More

I would agree with reviewers who said the hotel was a bit shabby, but it's an architectural gem with real character. Many hotels in Malta are new concrete blocks so we appreciated being somewhere with traditional style. I was there with a friend and we found all except one of the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Pleasant garden... More

The hotel was nice, rooms basic but clean and had great air conditioning though it was a little noisy. TV had only euronews in english which seemd to repeat over and over again. Sun area on 2nd floor was very dirty with sun beds well past their sell by date. Swimming pool area was, however, very nice and sunbathing there was... More

This is a nice hotel with very kind and helpful staff. The entrance and downstairs area are beautiful, and the bedrooms are basic, but entirely adequate. Lovely swimming pool, and pleasant sheltered areas to sit in and enjoy a drink. Breakfast is more or less DIY, but there is plenty of choice. The evening meal is very good value. We... More

Having returned last week from this hotel we were disappointed with it and would not recommend it. Although it was in a great location and we had a great time with our friends the hotel was very shabby and tired. Breakfast choices very limited, dark breakfast room and no windows. Bedroom was very shabby with cracked tiles, dripping and rusty... More

Have just returned from a most enjoyable holiday break in Malta. This trip was organised by the Belfast office of 'THE TRAVEL DEPARTMENT', who were very easy to deal with, accepting changes in room bookings before we paid our final instalment with no quibble. I had originally booked as a single traveller but was able to change to share when... More

We seem to have been lucky as we missed the aforementioned students and the clientele was a litttle more mature during our stay here. Loved the hotel, the interiors were beautiful, the room was lovely and clean, although my wife did remark that the bathroom needed "updating." The air conditioning was a godsend though! On the negative side, we were... More

Whilst a little too far from the coast (10 mins walk--uphill back!) A lovely "faded" stately home with some modern add-on at the back. 62 bus stops almost oposite so anywhere really from there. A room in the original building, but not ground floor is best. Food and service just as it should be. More
