My 4th or 5th visit. I was not registered with the group I came with, but I got lucky and received a very nice room in the building on the opposite side of the road. I even had a fireplace (but no firewood...). Firendly staff, and quite good food. The waffles in the lounge have become much worse than they... More

Skagen Hotel is in a good location in Bodo, close to both the bus and railway station. The common room they have is amazing, lovely decorated and cosy, and they offer free coffee, tea and fruit all day long. In addition, there are waffles every day between 4pm and 8pm; breakfast was excellent, too. Our room was big enough and... More

I stayed at the Skagen Hotel for two nights. This independent hotel was warm and comfortable with helpful and friendly staff. My large second floor room had a comfortable bed and a bathroom with a power shower. There were tea and coffee-making facilities in the room and the lounge, with free waffles in the afternoon. The buffet breakfast was very... More

This hotel needs som renovation, because the rooms are quite outdated. Especially the bathrooms needs this; the showers are small, and often makes the whole bathroomfloor wet, very few rooms have bathtubs, and they have a used old feeling to them. Many of the rooms are in need of more lighting aswell. The hotell seems to try to make up... More

Feels like home while it is luxurious! There are many rooms and although the hotel seems small, it's huge inside. These are exciting times with many underground rooms provide an intimate feel. The staff provide good service as opposed to other hotels I've stayed at. The fact that Skagen is not part of a chain is commendable that they stand... More

Have been here a couple of times before. Had my best room so far - a second floor room facing the street. Would advise to request such a room if available.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Excellent breakfast with free fresh fruit, tea, coffee and even waffles in the afternoon! Rooms are comfortable but not superb (who cares as you won't be inside for long). Lots of tv channels with English, great shower and good beds. Hotel has a sauna and a brilliant library with Chesterfield wingback chairs,... More

Nice, clean, professional. Nice extras like the "Help-yourself-making-your-own-waffles" in the lobby (quite common in Norway), and a free evening meal (basic cold buffet, more or less like the breakfast). Free wi-fi, but very very slow (almost unusable) at typical peak hours. Breakfast was fine, the usual Norwegian buffet. Before 9 AM the coffe was served at the table in a... More

I wrote a prevoius review in October 2010. Everything was the same this time, except that I found the room I got this time to be not as good as the last one. It was located in the main building, facing the courtyard, where a ventilation shaft at the adjacent laundry kept making noises. Also, the bathroom was not very... More

The hotel is located just above central Bodø, halfway between the coastal steamer dock and the airport - about a 15 minutes walk to each. The entrance is not very conspicuous. Checkin was fast and friendly. The hotel was seemingly renovated in the mid-1990s or so, but doesn't show obvious signs of wear. The hotel property is split between two... More
