THE GRAND HOTEL IN LLANDUDNO I don't know how they have the bare faced cheek to call it the Grand Hotel. Maybe it was Grand a few thousand years ago when it was built but it certainly isn't Grand now. The place was filthy and hasn't seen a window cleaner or a lick of paint since Queen Victoria want being... More

Well what can I say, it was like stepping into a time warp! The reception staff were excellent, attentive, polite & curtious & then we went to our room!!! Back to the 60's! Small room with wood chip wallpaper very outdated furniture, worn carpet, antiquated paint! Very small portable tv (again very old), doors onto the balcony that was on... More

We stayed at the 'Grand' in the middle of March with friends, unfortunately it was the week end when it snowed quite badly. We also found the hotel to be very tired looking, room was basic but reasonably clean and warm. The food was good with plenty of choice, no complaints here. The main problem was that in the main... Just stayed at The Grand this weekend (10th - 13th May).We had a lovely weekend but that was not necessarily anything to do with the hotel! Our room, 508 on the fifth floor was comfortable. No view whatsoever apart from what appeared to be unused accommodation other than a light being permanently on! Access to the fifth floor is by... More

What a terrible hotel. Very run down, tired looking and to top it all, staff about as friendly as Hannibal Lecter. The room was grimly decorated if that's what you could call it. There was damp and crumbling plaster everywhere you looked around the whole building. The windows filthy to the point where you could barely see out. All the... More

Last weekend we traveled up from Cornwall to Llandudno for a few days with an old vehicle to attend the Transport Festival. We had booked two rooms at the Grand but unfortunately made the mistake of paying "up front" for the rooms .... (Don't...just don't)... As we entered the place I felt like I had stepped into a time warp.... More

There is nothing grand about the Grand, in fact, everything about this hotel is not grand at all, and it’s cheap except for the room rate (£125pn). We had a ‘Premier’ room which suggests perhaps a touch of luxury and superior accommodation. At the Grand it just means more woodchip, silicon and jumble sale furniture, oh, and an ironing board.... Its tragic that this Grand Old Lady had fallen into such disrepair. We have just spent three nights here. Our room was very small and reasonably clean, but sad! What saved it was a balcony with a magnificent view of the beach and sea. The dining room we found a miserable place, and the food is reminiscent of school dinners!... More

We stayed in a standard double room here for one night in April. It was cheaper than most of the other hotels in Llandudno & it is centrally located but my advice would be to pay an extra tenner and stay somewhere decent. This hotel is ancient and although it does look quite grand from the outside it's really shabby inside.... A group of friends (3 couples) stayed for a 1 night break on 21/04/13. The hotel is an impressive old building with creaking floor boards and high ceilings. Currently there are area's which require some general attention but this did not spoil our stay. The entertainment was not that good, the reception service was efficient and helpful. Breakfast was buffet... More
