I have stayed at the Shah many times previously and was left dismayed by this visit. As a party I had a twin and family room booked. On arrival at 5pm the family room was not made up for the two adults and two children on booking. This was alerted to staff. However on inspection it was clear this room... More

Valued Guest, It is always disappointing when a guest feels disatisfied in some way, however on this occasion I fell the truth is being elaborated somewhat: Your issue with the bathroom was brought to my attention by yourself at 17:55 PM, I apologised profusely and as there was only myself and one other team member working at the time and... My Girlfriend and I have just come back from our short getaway to Poole. And stayed at the Shah of Persia. After a long day of touring we were a little weary of the place we booked 'Shah of Persia' but we need not have worried, because this is by far the best accommodation I have stayed in in England... Stayed two nights with partner and daughter. Impressed with staff attitude and manners. V positive. Spoke to my daughter with great respect. Food really was outstanding. The breakfast served by the lady who went out of the way to please us and the clients around her was fantastic. I have stayed at many hotels and the food service here was... More

My partner and I came here to watch the speedway so the hotel was in a great location for us. First impression were good, we had room 2, it was cold but the window was open. We went into town and on our return the room was still cold, the radiator did not work, the electric heater that was on... More

My sister told me about this hotel and I'm glad she did. We stayed in room 5, very big room with a double bed, sofa and chairs. En-suite bathroom, again very big. Very clean with everything you need for a comfortable stay, far superior to Travelodge hotels. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Shah of Persia is very good value... More

Having to work in the the area, we normally stay at Travelodges, to which is just a room with the most basic requirements, we were very fortunate to locate the Shah. The staff are always polite and friendly and nothing is a problem to them. The rooms have all the requirements you need, I was pretty fortunate to be in... More

A good value menu. Plenty of choices. Cheaper still if you are staying there. Lovely staff. Large well equipped rooms. Breakfast is enough to last most people the day, if traveling. A great selection of cereals, yogurts, cooked, toast etc.

Stayed on Sunday 3rd March in Room 6 as we were attending a party in town. Delighted with the room, very nicely decorated, so nice to have a unique room rather than the standard "room in a box" that the chain hotels offer. The two main things I look for - powerful shower and comfortable bed - were provided, everything... More

For £35 a night, you get a well appointed single room (mine was outside of the main building, in what looks like a shed but quite warm), 20% off food and drink, and a generous breakfast in the morning. Don't expect to get a hotel style welcome. I was simply handed my keys and given basic information. The lady that... More

Stayed in the Shah of Persia for a long weekend due to the gathering of the family. Booked it first and then read previous Trip advisor reviews and was very relived and now here is mine. Rooms............All you need. Good rooms with spotlessly clean and comfortable beds. Felt very homely. Bathroom was very good standard with loads of hot water..... More
