We stopped here for lunch on our way to London and ate in the Garden Room. The hotel itself is beautiful, however, lunch was extremely over priced for what we got. Service was efficient but it was a shame to have paid haute cuisine prices for what was in effect a very mediocre lunch.

Stayed 1 night for double celebration. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded for our Anniversary. What wonderful news! Never happened to me EVER before. We had a 4 poster bedroom overlooking the courtyard + a huge ensuite in the old part of the hotel.

Most hotels fight to keep guests from eating outside their properties, so when you see the hotel restaurant full on a Monday night, you know you're in for something special.
It's not cheap, but it was worth every penny. Great food and service to match. Loved it.
Rooms are small but modern, and very friendly staff.
Happy to recommend it.

I always stay at The George when visiting friends in Stamford, normally just before Christmas. They decorate the hotel beautifully with fresh foliage and the courtyard is lit with Christmas trees.
