The Green Man is an OK place to stay, and I know people who would like it very much. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and vary in size. The bathrooms are ok, there are complimentary shower gel and shampoo, but we had no soap so we used the shower gel instead and it smelled very strongly of fake apples.... More

We stayed at this pub/bed&breakfast for one night only, facing the hotel is a 24hour petrol station, where gangs of youths hang out through the night, shouting, swearing and heavily drinking booze, taxis in and out through the night, the noise started about 1.30 am through to 5.30am. Fine pub, but.... Accommodation was truly awful. Dirty carpets, window would not shut, no mirror, curtain so thin that it didn't prevent the all-night lighting from the petrol station opposite illuminating the room all night. Stayed here for a weekend in September as we were in the area fir a wedding and must say it was thoroughly enjoyable. No hesitation in recommending lively local's pub with real ale. Friendly staff, very clean. Rooms were adequate and clean if faded but renovation planned. Breakfast was first class well presented. Will definitely visit again soon.
