Great place to stay in Yorkshire. Very comfortable rooms & reasonable prices. Stunning scenery. Well located for the Pennines, Derbyshire Dales & North Yorkshire Moors. 5 miles from Holmfirth, home of 'Last of the Summer Wine'. What more could you want?.

Outstanding value, close to all amenities, close to Huddersfield. Friendly atmosphere, good food, good hospitality. Don't know about the previous review but that woman must have stayed somewhere else. Never stayed in a bed and breakfast where I have been made to feel more at home than Dogley chapel, with Ivory.

I have never been so cold in my whole life! The room was like an ice box, and had nasty polyester sheets that held no heat at all. The cupboard was half full of men's clothing, and the bathroom was upstairs - which meant braving the icy blast of the even colder hallways! Although it was a last minute booking, the B and B owner never appeared - just left notes for me, including " i won't be around in the morning, so if you want breakfast, there's milk in the kitchen fridge, and help yourself to a piece of toast " ! All night long a branch was banging against my window - which was locked, so I couldn't do anything about it! Add to that, there was a long cobweb hanging from the lampshade, and a scrappy small towel, and a roll of kitchen paper beside the bed instead of tissues! I couldn't face having a shower - or even making myself breakfast! Never again.....!…

I was in the area on business with my brother and we really enjoyed our stay with Ivor. We had a large room each, the rooms were very clean and really comfortable with modern TV etc. The building is really quirky and full of character. It was no more than 4 minutes by car into the centre of Huddersfield, I would definitely stay here again if in the area.
