This is a strange hotel, with very strange decor. On the plus side it is well positioned within easy walking distance of the town and it sells nice ale in the bar. We stayed here for 3 nights to visit the Buxton opera, Chatsworth, the peak district and its caves. Great location, plentiful food in the evenings from the bar and friendly staff at all times. All over the hotel were theatrical themes (posters, portraits of actors, theatrical lighting), enhancing the experience. We will return.

Having stayed in this hotel before, we knew that the position is excellent and there is free parking. Our room was spacious and clean, as was the bathroom. Stayed 2 nights and was left very disappointed. Had room number 8 which was in need of complete decoration and modernising. Didn't like the 12 photographs of Sean Connery on all walls just didn't feel right. Ripped bathroom flooring spotted.
