I stayed in the Braemar guest house mid July for both my birthday and to visit friends who were visiting the area. Being new to Buxton I was a little unsure of the attractions in the local area, however Roger and Marie made me feel incredibly welcome in their home. The room I had was exceptional; very clean and comfortable,... More

We were very impressed with this guest house and we enjoyed our 6 night stay. The room was very comfortable with a king size bed. All necessary toiletries etc were provided as well as adequate supplies of tea and coffee. The breakfast was excellent. This guest house is close to the bus terminus and there are excellent bus services to... More

My son and I have stayed at Braemar on many occasions over the past few years and have always received a very warm welcome from Roger and Marie. Our most recent stay in June was no exception. Apart from the convenience of Braemar's locality to the centre of Buxton, Roger always provides in depth knowledge of sights we can visit... More

The Braemar was, I expect, built in the second half of the 19th century as a residence for a wealthy family. The building is of typical sturdy Victorian construction and the rooms (at least the ones we saw) are vaulted, airy and well lit by sash windows. There is a delightful Victorian mosaic floor in the main entrance. We stayed... More

Just spent another very pleasant weekend at braemar. Breakfast as usual was excellent and very substantial. My wife went for the cold choices this time and we were very happy with the variety available. We had a different double room this time which was very peaceful and comfy. The only think that woke us were the birds whistling their morning... More

We have just enjoyed another happy walking and sightseeing short break up in the Derbyshire hills and Peak District National Park. Our accommodation in Buxton , which we must admit is old favourite ( and must be our fourth or fifth visit to this establishment ) is Braemar Guest House , not only is it centrally located in a quite... We stayed at this B&B for 5 days. The room is spacious and clean, spacious bed, television and coffee and tea facillities. The B&B is quiet, mrs. & mr . Hyde leave you in peace, but if you need them, they are there. Breakfast is good, if you ask for crispy bacon, you get crispy bacon. They do their best... More
