We embarked on a trip around England/Scotland on 5 May. The first night was spent in the Red Lion Hotel. Lovely venue, old quirky pub, harrow staircase - but we were told about this on arrival. We had room 12 (I think). small but perfectly clean and comfortable - overlooking the front of the hotel/pub. Only issue we had with... More

I stayed at The Red Lion a couple of weeks ago, and really enjoyed my stay. I was celebrating my friends birthday, so we stayed for 2 nights. The staff couldnt do enough for you, and as it was a very busy weekend, (Adderbury Dance,) they were rushed off there feet. The food was really good on both evenings we... More

This hotel/pub/restaurant is situated opposite the village green in the picturesque village of Adderbury, just south of Banbury. I was passing through with the family and had seen it online and thought it would be a nice spot for lunch. And indeed it is a nice spot for lunch. It has heritage reportedly dating back to the English Civil War,... More

I work in Banbury and so have stayed in most of the hotels around Banbury and I consider this one the best. It is a very characterful and well run hotel, with a great restaurant that serves food for all tastes (with good steak and fish dishes), and always has a very good specials board - unlike most hotels it... We stayed at the Red Lion on a three day ( two night ) break with friends who had travelled down from Yorkshire. Wonderful and delightful old pub - exactly what we had been looking for. Manager and all the staff were brilliant and made us all feel very welcome and absolutely nothing was too much trouble to make our... More

Thank you so much for your feed back and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We absolutely loved having you and look forward to seeing you again later on in the year. The shower in room 11 and the hot water system are being looked into and it is a struggle to get that tap... More

We enjoyed this Inn so much in Winter we decided to return in the Spring. It would not suit elderly people with walking difficulties because of the narrow winding stairs to bedrooms. There is one ground floor room however, which is more expensive because it is the 'character' room. (Lovely) Our room was small with loads of character and very clean.... More

Me and my partner stayed at the Red Lion , on a 3 night stay, Friday till Monday, First impression is that the building is a very old cottage building, that has great character feel about it. It looks fantastic in a nice village called Adderbury. We checked in on Friday with a very more welcome from the Manager Derek.... More

The Red Lion at Adderbury is absolutely beautiful. Just got back from an overnight stay and, I have to admit, I wish we had been able to stay longer. So disappointed to leave. The building is stunning, 300 years old, quaint and quirky. The rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable and the beds were king size, heaven to sleep in... More

No staff behind the bar, took 10 minutes to order a drink when we arrived, Ordered fish & chips and scampy. Fish was very greasy and both portions of peas were shrivelled up and dry, The tar-tar sauce was so old it had a skin over the top, no one came to check if the meal was ok and again... More
