We stayed at the George Hotel in January 2013 - really nice rooms and a friendly welcome from the owner. Rooms were warm and had very comfortable beds - really clean too and a decent shower. Had a few drinks in the pub as well which is a really nice place. Fantastic breakfast in the morning.

I booked this hotel/Pub as an overnight stay before using Eurostar. Quite difficult to find (one-way system) but very friendly pub and staff. Booked into George Hotel for one night, very last minute. Warm welcome, clean nice looking pub, parking on site. Rooms basic but clean and the bed was so comfy. Loved reading about the history and was relieved but secretly disapointed not to experience a ghostly sighting!! Lovely yummy breakfast in the morning and the menu overall sounded good. Highly recommend!!!

All the staff were friendly and willing to help, they made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived till the moment we left. Great food (especially the sausages! omnom), great entertainment, great atmosphere. We had a really good weekend, if you go, you have to try the carvery! :)
