Great food great beer outstanding location. Dog friendly and Bailey the owners dog is an attraction for all. Real dog friendly location serving Wye Valley brewery beers. Small camping area on river bank with view of the River Wye. Serves good local ciders. Try it you will like it along with the dog and friendly staff.

We have visited this public house/restaurant on many occasions as a journey and refreshment break when travelling via the M50/A40 between the North of England and Cardiff. Our latest visit was February 3rd 2013. It is only a very small diversion off the main route. We are always made to feel very welcome, the food is always of very good... More

With it being my birthday recently I could think of no place better to go for a wonderful lunch than the white lion. I came down with a large group of my family and the landlady and landlord had set the table up for us right by the fire and we're ready to take our order straight away which was... More

Very pleasent evening meal come meeting with colleagues. Couldn't have been better service and no faulting the meal from any of us. We also visited for a drink on the terrace earlier in the day overlooking the river, beautiful. All a little quirky and very pleasing. Friends stayed overnight, good report.

Stopped here on route back to Barry from Reading. The Sunday lunch was good old fashioned proper home cooked fayre, lots of meat, gravy, two Yorkshires, roasties and fresh veg cooked to perfection. Good choice for non Sunday lunch fans, hubby had the chicken curry which he said was lovely too. View is a bonus, right on the riverbank, will... More

Just returned from a weekend in the area, we always visit the White Lion when we go to Ross on Wye as the landlord and landlady are always so friendly and welcoming. We have eaten there twice this year and the food is good traditional pub food priced sensibly. Excellent choice of beers and warm efficient bar staff. I do... More

Dave seems all right but simple questions like "Can we have some breakfast please?" resulted in threats of instant dismissal of staff. Staff robot had failed in his prime objective to service us with instructions of tent volume and location procedure, a simple explanation that there is a public thoroughfare would suffice, we were not told that anything bigger than... Every one who phones to book up is told we are not a campsite but a pub with a small stretch of riverbank where we can accommodate 10 small 2 man size tents which is why i was surprised to see a small marque erected on the riverbank. I asked to speak to the person who made the booking only... More

We were a family of five camping with the car while canoeing the Wye. We didn't read these reviews until just before we set off. So being forewarned we obeyed the instructions on where we were to site our tents. We had two nights there and were happy. It is such a good location on that apron of grass in... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our pub. Two points that you complained about 1) Shower - please note we are not a camp site and therefore do not have the same level of facilities, this shower was installed as the previous owners ran the camping with very basic facilities - funny they didn't have any negative reviews...
