We have just returned from a one night stay here for a friends party. We would just like to comment on the service we received here from the lovely lady manager. She was fantastic and really did her best to cater to everyone's needs... A must visit hotel if only for the service . (A very beautiful and clean hotel... More

This wasn't our first visit and it certainly wont be our last..On this ocassion we only popped in for a couple of drinks with family and friends. The beautiful weather was a major boon and the hotel garden was very busy with happy diners..Great atmosphere, great service and great value..

As usual a good welcome ,helpful staff and excellent food. The Bar and Restaurant menus have a good range of choices. We stayed in one of the Barn apartments which can be self catering. They are a two minute walk to the main building. Good facilities ,bedroom ,bathroom , lounge and kitchen. Wood may be purchased for the wood burner... More

We stayed here one night for our anniversary, in the John Graves Simcoe room - a four-poster located near the far end of the hotel, accessed via a long corridor with intermediate stairs. The room was very pleasant with nice views and the bed was a good size. The bathroom was a little dated but worked fine once the hot... More

We stayed here for 3 nights. Absolutely the best thing about this hotel is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and country location with lovely views. Unfortunately the on-line photos disguise the shabby appearance of the rooms, which were rather a disappointment. All seem to be in need of some refurbishment. Very old fashioned shower room. We had only... More

We have been for lunch a few times now and each time the food has been delicious, huge portions and piping hot . Yesterday , we sat in the conservatory by the wood burner and relaxed for an hour . The lamb and trout specials were gorgeous and the planned pudding was yet again cancelled as we were so full... More

I stayed here whilst on business in the Ross area recently. What a lovely time I had too. I enjoyed the quaint rooms - all beams and white painted plaster, not a straight wall or level floor in the place, which gave this Hotel real character. The food was about the right price for a Hotel in the country and... More

We did not stay at the hotel, but popped in to the pub for a Sunday dinner on the way back from visiting Symonds Yat Rock. Felt compelled to write a review having read some of the negative comments on the food. I can honestly say that the roast dinner that I had yesterday was one of the best I... More

We popped across the road from the Wye Valley Butterfly Zoo for some lunch, and after opening the huge door and peering inside, had some good expectations set about what lunch would be like. The pub is great, lots and lots of old world charm and history. Browsing the menu, I thought it seemed a little pricey, especially as we... More

Thank you for your feedback about the food you ate recently. As you state, we are a hotel and as such do aim to provide the majority of guests with a main meal. I am glad your husband enjoyed his steak sandwich, I can only imagine you were incredibly unlucky to get fatty steak in your panini - I apologise... More

Popped in here for a little bite to eat and a drink while visiting the area, thought was very overprice, the panini in the bar was £7.50 and came with no extra, had a ham and cheese one and was disgusting! One slice of ham if that and cheese very poor, the chessy chips were very nice but over priced... More

Thank you for your feedback about your snack here recently. I apologise that you did not feel that your Ham & Cheese Panini was good quality or value for money. The Panini's are a standard size - 14" long baguette which are fairly large. We put our homecooked ham and cheese inside and serve it with a lovely large salad... More
