I stayed here for work in April 2013. After browsing online we picked the Kirkwall Hotel as we'd heard the restaurant was nice. On the website the hotel, and especially the rooms, looks quite old. I was pleasantly surprised! Modern rooms with flat screen tvs. The restaurant is good, and reception staff are happy to help.

Staff were very attentive and pleasant, and the food was second to none, both in terms of quality and quantity. All the food was freshly cooked and locally sourced and the bar had a great selection of malt whiskies. All the people in my party were of the same opinion. I definitely hope to return sometime soon.

32 members of large group visiting the northern isles stayed here over easter weekend. fabulously looked after by the hotel staff. Breakfast excellent!! The attached skippers bar was an absolute island experience dream. Rooms a little dated, but I felt gave the place character. Definitely would stay again.

During a recent 5 night stay in the Kirkwall Hotel we entertained our family, (two of whom travelled from Alaska) to a celebration dinner. Our room was excellent, and the kindness and attention of all the staff was second to none. On top of that, we could not have had a better dinner. Well done by all!!
