We booked a two night 'relaxation break'. We were impressed. There were quality toiletries, as promised, for both the man, as well as the woman. Quality chocolates, and a superb bottle of wine. We were in a double room, that turned out to be a suite. We were delighted. Never had that before. Staff were superb, as we have found... More

On arrival, the buidling outside looked run down, but i hoped that this was not the case on the inside. On entry to the reception the smell of cigarette smoke was lingering. On booking in i advised the receptionist that we had booked with late rooms on a dinner bed and breakfast deal, but had noticed after that meals were... More

If you can block out the constant noise of the outdated lifts on a Saturday night you will then have to overcome the door slamming competition the locals appear to enjoy all night. The room has walls thin enough to allow you to hear all the flatulence emanating from both ends of the locals in neighbouring rooms. There is no... More

Our first concern on arrival was the fact the car park shutter would not fully open or close to permit access. When we entered reception, however, the staff were already on the case to fix it. We got into our room and with dismay noticed that there was no ceiling light fixture, and of the two lamps only one worked.... More

The hotel was shabby and tired and in need of an update. However the room was clean and the bathroom was clean. The breakfast was ok the next morning. We got a cheap deal so it was value for money. Thought the man on reception was very ignorant obviously not happy in his work.

We booked 3 rooms for a night out in Newcastle and to our disappointment we found that all the rooms to be well below standard and far from the rooms advertised on there website. One of our rooms did not even have a working shower and the toilet was not even bolted to the floor which was highly unstable, which... More

At first sight, it's a bit shabby - but it's very very clean, despite needing some attention to decor and furnishings. The staff are superb! Not only Brian at Reception who knew our names on arrival, but right through the entire 'network' - dining room waiters and waitresses couldn't be more helpful or attentive and the bar staff told us... We really booked this for it's location and price - so I guess our expectations were not too high. I cannot fault the staff - friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is tired looking and could do with a refurbish - wallpaper was stained and torn in our room. That being said the beds were comfortable and we had a... More
