Myself and my partner stayed here last year. The cabin was ok, the floors and kitchen were very worn and in general needed an update. Also the road to get to the cabins is very long and when we went was very beaten. Its covered in pot holes and when it rains you cant judge there depth (some are considerably deep),... More

Had a great time at strathtyre, well equipped lodges and hot tub was lovely!!! Views are amazing !! No issues with the staff at the retreat they were polite and helpful, the main problem is the access road,it is absolutely awful with HUGE potholes, we went in to calendar on Saturday night and called a local taxi company who informed us... Just returned today from our second stay at Strathyre. we have stayed in cabin no.3 on both occasions. The location of the cabins are excellent as they are situated on the national network cycle track and at the foot of Ben Ledi and, as we have a dog, their is no need to get in the car to go out... Around October time every year myself and my partner have a short break somewhere in England in a log cabin with a hot tub. We tend to normally go for independent sites however last year decided to opt for Forest Lodges. In future I will stick to the independent sites - they seem to spend more time on attention to... We have recently returned from a 4 night break. We were happy with the cleanliness and location of the cabins. We enjoyed the private hot tub and lovely views. Cabins were well equipped with everything you would need for a self catering break. Our only complaint would be the unpredictable opening & closing times of the woodland retreat. They did... More

Thank you for your review after your recent stay with us at Strathyre. I am pleased that you enjoyed the cabin and the setting but concerned to hear about the problems you had with the Forest Retreat. Thank you for bringing this to our attention; we will discuss what happened with the team at Strathyre and make sure that the... More

We are still here, magnificient views especially from the hot tub wow! Love the contemporary lodge, set out perfect, huge big windows, not at all private but that doesnt bother us. We stayed in no6 from 8th April to 12th April The track down not a problem, we have a low sports bm tourer and was a little worried after... More

Stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in April 2013. Let me start by saying I was a little worried about the road due to previous reviews. The road is, in fact, no problem at all. If you stick to the 10mph speed limit and drive carefully, you will be fine. And take this from someone who knows what... More

Thank you for your kind review. I am delighted that you had an enjoyable break with us and that you enjoyed the natural environment – including the local wildlife. The hot tub is, of course, one of the best places to enjoy the natural environment from! I hope we’ll see you again soon. More

Excellent location, hot tub was amazing. I felt our cabin was "a bit tired" could do with re-vamp. For 6 people we only had 2x2seater couches, there was dining room chairs but they're not for relaxing on. We only had a 3night stay, but we all had a good time. All in all only a few wee moans, but it... More

We visited here for the long weekend over Easter, just as we did last year. We stayed in cabin 28 which is the last one in the row, at the end of the site. You have to park on the road below and then carry your stuff up the wooden stairs, so bear this in mind if you have any... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Strathyre in December. Really lovely part of the country. We booked a Silver Birch and it was perfect for what we wanted. The cabin was clean, toasty warm and very well equipped - especially the kitchen. The bedroom in the loft area was wonderful - lovely comfy bed, nice en-suite bathroom and a great... More

Thank you for your review after your December break at Strathyr, it did make us laugh! I am sure you made a certain gentleman’s holiday. It is fair to say that some cabins are bit more private than others and it is possible, for a small additional charge, to reserve a cabin of your choice, subject of course to it... More
