I booked the lodge instead of a hotel in Aberdeen, as I had a course at Westhills (30 mins drive away) and wanted to avoid Aberdeen traffic. This was a very convenient solution, no problems with traffic to and fom the course. Found the lodge to be very comfortable, beautiful view of the loch from the room, the owners were... More

Stayed for three days on business. Welcome was fantastic and the room was lovely, with one of the best views I've had. Food was some of the best I've had....try the creme brulee!! Even got some guidance from the Chef too! Will definitely be back.

We booked the lodge for our wedding in June 2013, absolutely perfect setting! Food was brilliant, service was good, the views are second to none, even on a cloudy day they are still spectacular. The hotel is clean, comfortable and has fantastic amenities. Will definitely be back at some point and would highly recommend it as a wedding or other... More

I booked this hotel as a last resort as I couldn't get one in Aberdeen, what a splendid find. It's about a three quarter hour drive from Aberdeen and worth every inch of the drive. I loved it so much I think I'd even walk it and I stay in over 200 hotels a year. As you turn off the... More

We had an overnight stay at The Lodge and just loved it. An email enquiry had a response and confirmation within the hour, and it was at a late hour too. The Lodge is in a beautiful setting with wonderful views over the loch. We were very helpfully shown to our room (Room 1) that opened on to a lovely... More

We first visited in September 2011 for my birthday where my husband proposed to me. We had such a wonderful weekend and fell in love with the place. When selecting a wedding venue we didn't even look anywhere else. We got married here in May 2013. Owners Derek and Jean's hospitality is second to none. The hotel has a wonderful... More

After a hectic day in Aberdeen, we could have spent as long driving through Aberdeen as we did driving out to Aboyne and in to the "Real Scotland". This is a welcoming and comfortable hotel in a stunning setting. Rooms lovely, food excellent, views over the lake and to the mountains couldn't be bettered anywhere. Swallows flying around outside completed... More

Very rude and very disappointing arrived at a wonderfull setting with the intention of having lunch after a short walk at the Lake. The place was empty - on a bank holiday weekend - that speaks for its self! We we confrunted by the owner she is very rude and told us we could not park there to walk even... More

I was looking for a relaxing weekend as a treat, after my wife had just completed her Uni exams. After discussing the spa treatments with Jean, who runs the place with her husband, I booked 2 nights and 2 treatments each. The location is lovely, being situated on the edge of a loch. The room was nice and bright and... More

I am just back from celebrating the marriage of my daughter and son-in-law at the Lodge on the Loch at Aboyne and what a fabulous time we all had. The location of the Lodge is just stunning overlooking the Loch itself and also the mountains of Mount Keen and Lochnagar in the distance. The accommodation was comfortable with lovely bathrooms...
