I've stayed here twice and the building is easy to find the proprietors, Pam and Steve, are a friendly couple and very welcoming. Although it was very cold out on both my trips, my room was warm and comfortable. (In fact, on one occasion, I turned the radiator down). I had no problem parking. You get a great breakfast too.

Warm and welcoming B&B, very friendly owners. Chosen for Tripadvisor reviews, great location for railway station and town centre- very easy to find. Breakfast was very good with cereals and the good old full English which went down a treat. Highly recommended, would stay again!!

Booked a single room for four nights which wasn't at all expensive and found myself upstairs in a huge room with a very comfortable double bed. It was modestly furnished and it was more like living in a small house rather than just a room. There was a desk (or small table) and chair and a big window which let... More

We had planned to stay for two nights but were really glad we only stayed for one. The room was tiny, the quality of the sheets and duvet of poor quality [scratchy comes to mind] with the bathroom not very clean and the towels torn, although clean. It was supposed to be a no-smoking house, but the people in the... More

lovely B & B... The breakfast was served by the gorgeous steve in a Tafetta Ballgown with his lovely wife Pam providing the background music on her Bontempi Organ. Lovely fresh eggs provided by their chickens who stay in room 4. Will definitely stay here again. Harry Verdechy

Following the two excellent reviews on here, and lured by the promise of a lounge with cooking facilities/free wi-fi, I decided to book the Barrie for my first week's stay in Barrow as a contractor. To her credit, the owner did stay up for my late arrival (9.30pm) but things went downhill when she sent me up to the top... More

I had to come to Barrow for an extended business trip which I decided to combine with an extra leisure day to spend in the Lakes. I picked Barrie House out of the list on the council website because it was in my price range, looked relatively near to the station and the first place I contacted was fully booked.... More

I was almost giving up hope of finding somewhere reasonably priced for a one night stay in Barrow that wasn't too far from where I was working the following day. However, I finally rang the Barrie Guest House and booked an en suite room for £35. The guest house was about a ten minute walk from the railway station -... More
