This is such a nice hotel - exactly how hotels should be. The staff are excellent and so many familiar faces which just shows how good an employer Brend Hotels must be. The rooms that we stayed in on the 1st floor had been refurbished since we last stayed - very nicely done. We had interconnecting rooms with comfy beds,... More

Stayed at this hotel on a one night say on business in May. Very comfortable rooms, made very welcome from the moment I stepped out of the taxi to the moment I got back in to go to the station. Well done to all the staff they are a credit to the hotel. Good location.

We are very regular visitors to The Imperial Hotel, Barnstaple and never ever want to leave it - probably live there if we could! The staff are absolutely excellent in every way. We have visited many many hotels in the UK and abroad but nowhere looks after us better than The Imperial. The food at the hotel is excellent and... More

This is a very grand hotel. Our room on the second floor has a riverview and a balcony. It's quite large and comfortable. The en suite is also quite large and the spa products provided are lovely. Car parking is free. There was a good range of fruits at breakfast as well as a selection of hot foods to order... More

Our fifth visit to the Imperial although we have been to a number of the Brend Hotels all of which have been very delightful to stay at but with my wife being disabled, the Imperial Hotel is better suited to our needs. The staff are excellent and helpful, great quality and choice of food, somewhere comfortable to relax, this is... More

This hotel has a really positive approach to looking after its guests, nothing is too much trouble - although someone might like to explain to chef the difference between crispy and burnt bacon ! Generally though the food is excellent and the service superb. This is the second time that I've stayed here and I would recommend it. The single... More

After a beating a hasty retreat from an unpleasant cottage we needed somewhere to stop over before heading back from Cornwall. We had planned to spend a few days in the Braunton/Croyde area so Barnstaple seemed a good point along the route to find a hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the Imperial. We had a standard Double room in... More

This is a real gem if you are travelling around North Devon. The hotel maintains high standards, has a huge car park and the quality of food and its presentation are always excellent. Downstairs rooms are well furnished, comfortable and there are often beautiful floral displays. It's one of my favourite hotels in the UK! The clientele tends mostly to... More

Over the last six years we have been to the hotel usually every six weeks including Christmas(a delight not to be missed) and never once have had cause to complain about anything. It is everything and more expected of a 4star hotel. Spotlessly clean hotel, with friendly, efficient and attentive staff from the Hotel Director down. Will not name individuals... More

This Bank holiday Sunday we went for lunch at the Imperial Hotel in Barnstaple. On a sunny day it was a pleasure to have a drink before our lunch on the terrace outside. It is in a peaceful location and the staff are friendly and efficient. Our lunch was superb served in a beautiful dining room. The roast beef is... More
