We stayed in 'Le Jardin' room, which has just had a complete re-furb. It was simply amazing! The decor is very classy, and the bathroom very posh. We loved the decking area with view of the cricket pitch, and the private hot tub was awesome! The complintary hamper was a nice touch, with 2 bottles of red wine, water, chocolates... More

Had a lovely overnight stay at this hotel on Saturday with my brothers and sister in laws, the staff were great , all 3 of the rooms were just lovely and so different from the large chain hotels we've stayed in before. Lots of lovely finishing touches, and very central for the city pub crawl :-) We had dinner and... More

A most unusual hotel where every room is different and decoration is quirky but cosy. We booked the bijou loft, which proved to be very small and moved to another room. This was comfortable with a nice bed but still not very large. Unusual feature is the "see-through" shower! Staff very very friendly and helpful throughout and the food was... More

We stayed in the garden lodge which was amazing very luxurious. A birthday surprise for my partner and he was very impressed. A little disappointed there was no bath as a night away without kids means I have time to relax. However overall a fantastic stay and we will definitely visit again. We ate in the restaurant and although the... More

Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. If you choose to come again, then our other two rooms with hot tubs ( Eden Lodge & Le Jardin) both have a bath and shower in the bathroom. Alternatively give us a call and we can advise you based on our availability. More

We booked to stay on a Sunday night and for Sunday lunch. We arrived early but it was no problem and they sat us for lunch straight away and what a stunning lunch it was. After a wander round Durham we went to our room (the garden room with hot tub) and it was amazing. Fantastic rooms and service to... More

We stayed in the eden lodge on 20/4/13. It was amazing. The finishing touches the hotel offered was excellent. Hamper of goodies, make up wipes. I think im biased because my boyfriend proposed in this room.

We stayed here on the spur of the moment night away. I was a wee bit disappointed with the room. On entering the musty foisty smell was apparent. The bathroom was in dire need of a lot of TLC. The bath had lots of scratches, toilet seat needed replacing as was very grubby and the steam shower needed a deep... More

Thank you for your comments, as all feedback is welcomed. The rate for this particular room has been reduced recently as refurbishment for the room starts in the next two weeks, and the reduction reflects our acknowledgement that there are one or two things that need attention. We do hope that you would consider staying again should the occasion arise. More

Ref the Review 10th April and the haunted Nautical Room I have never read such tripe I have just stayed in this room for 2 nights I found it to be well appointed, large enough, cracking shower and free of Spooks. This was my first experience of Gadds and I can't wait to go back. From the time I arrived... More

My partner and I stayed for our anniversary, for one night. We booked the nautical room which was very cramped- especially for the price we paid. The location is very central, and ideal for seeing Durham. Overall, the hotel is well furnished and maintained, however, one word of warning, the room we stayed in was haunted! I must be the... More
