We only stayed at the guesthouse for 1 night and the family is very welcoming and nice, but the room could do with a good clean and some new bedlinen. It was all a bit too old, worn and tired. Breakfast was ok, but we have had better. It's a shame because the location is great and the people too!

Farmhouse within easy reach of Durham City, ample parking, warm and friendly owners. Spacious single room, very clean and comfy. Huge bathroom for sole use. Breakfast nicely cooked and more than ample, homemade preserves, fruit, yoghurt and cereals freely available. Food of good quality. I will certainly return!

Disappointing visit as this guest house was recommended. Landlady vey pleasant and welcoming, but room was "tired" and not the cleanest we have been in. For example: the bedding was clean but the pillows were badly marked and need replacing urgently. Towels were clean but frayed. The breakfast was well presented and plentiful.

Stayed here as a family at the end of December. Landlady was very accommodating and the breakfasts were tasty and enormous. Lovely old building and ample private parking. House is about a couple of miles from the City centre, but there is a bus stop just outside. (Parking in Durham is a nightmare!) TV in each room and a comfortable... More

Lovely old stone building, view over rural setting on the edge of a city. Buses stop just outside. Landlady very adaptable - caters for special diets, allows use of fridge and freezer, breakfast well cooked and pleanty of it. Flexible times to eat. Comfortable beds, rooms big enough with TV provided. Lounge avainable. Strongly recommended.

Beautiful guest house with superb size rooms furnished in traditional furniture. I arrived quite late and had to leave early so I missed out on the breakfast so I can't vouch for the food. The room was very spacious and all the standard facilities were provided. My only minor complaint was that the heating is obviously on a timer and... More

I recently stayed at the Broom Farm Guest House just outside of Durham for two nights with my mother. What a lovely experience it was! The 18th century farm house has lots of character, and the rooms are accented with antique and vintage furniture. The hearty breakfast included delicious homemade rhubarb sauce - something I hadn't tasted since my childhood.... More
