Stayed on a short vacation in off season, pub was pretty dead but staff were very helpful and freindly. Food in the evening was typical pub food but very well cooked. Room was nothing special but clean and good value.

The Waterford Arms has long been a favourite of ours, and we often get requests from family visiting us from other parts of the country to go there for the famous "whale and chips" - so called due to the size of the fish they serve. That was the reason for our visit recently, my brother is visiting and requested... More

Me, my husband and our two small children arrived at the Waterford Arms without a booking on a Saturday tea-time hoping we could be squeezed in on short notice. The waiting staff were very accomodating and found us a spot and provided clean highchairs (you would be surprised how few establishments bother to wipe down baby equipment before sending it... More

I have always wanted to try this restaurant for the Famous Fish n Chips but I heard that food quality wasn't as good as past reputation, I got wind of a change in management and once I found out that it was part of the Killingworth Arms chain I had no hesitation in booking up, Turned up on speck and... I've been to the restaurant several times over the last few years and have always liked what I got. Not this time. We arrived at twelve o' clock on Saturday and were the first customers. I ordered the 16 oz rump steak with all the trimmings and my wife ordered chicken and mushroom pie with potatoes and veg. So far... More

A bad start when my green tea was put down, and was lemon with luke warm water in the pot. This had to be sent back. A king prawn curry, became a "shrimp" curry, which was made with yellow and red peppers which were cooked to a mush, the poppadom was so chewy you could bend it. Cajun chicken with... More

Stayed for one night Sept 2012 with friends who complete the C2C cycle challenge. On arrival friendly greeting, showed to our rooms which definately need some renovations and new furniture BUT saying that for the price the room was perfectly adequate and clean. Stayed for dinner which was very good, huge portions but really good food for a very reasonable... More
