I can't speak for the rest of the houses in this little collection but Ranch Cottage should definately be avoided. My husband and I booked this up primarily because of the indoor pool. We could see from the pictures that the house was dated but were not too concerned. However on arrival it was so dissappointing. Here's a list of... More

We booked the farmhouse and the Coachman's Cottage for the week of August 3rd -10th 2012. We had stayed there once before and reading some of the reviews we were anxious that things may have deteriorared since our last visit. On the contrary work had clearly been done especially on the kitchen. Both houses were clean if a little dated.... More

The actual accommodation in terms of facilities was ok, but it was not acceptably clean inside or out. There were unidentifiable objects beneath the sofa cushions and dog poo everywhere on the communal and private lawns rendering them unsuitable for the children to play in.

Whilst this property is extremely large and great for large parties - this is where the fun ended quite frankly. The house is in need of desperate need of refurbishment. Lots of damp and to be honest needed a thorough clean. The owner of the property was particularly visible throughout the week and took the liberty of telling us which... More

We stayed in the 2-bedroomed Coachman's Cottage for a weekend recently, and we were really rather disappointed. For the money we'd spent, we should've stayed in a nice hotel, but with a baby thought it would be better to book a cottage (because of making up bottles and night feeding/crying etc). The place has clearly had some money spent on... More

Myself and my husband first came to East Tarr Farm in November 2001 for our Honeymoon, basically we wanted somewhere quiet and where we could continue going every year without a great expense. In October 2009 we decided that year would be our last, since 2001 we had our little girl and my son and contined to go to the... More

My in-laws adore their grandchildren and wanted to spend a week away with (but not with) them! They have a caravan and they generously treated us (my husband and I and our four children aged 7,5,4 and 1 to a stay at Gamekeepers Cottage. I read the above negative review about a week before we were due to go and... More

Could be very good. Three good size bedrooms and large farmhouse style kitchen with table. However very dated and lacking the touches and service expected. Upstairs smells of dog and carpets with dog hair. Greeted by overwhelming smell of bleach and dog for 1st time. Floor downstairs was covered in slippy polish that caused a child to fall. Had to...
