Wifi speed is almost 5 Mbps - faster than my home. The computer table has an office chair that can be raised and lowered; and an outlet on the wall for charging devices that is easily accessible (how nice not to have to crawl under a table!) A comfortable leather sofa, and everything is in A-1 condition. Outside it is... More

A real gem!! After a long day of driving and coming into the area late, we were doubtful of finding any place that would offer a nice clean room. We were pleasantly surprised to find the Bulkely Valley Motel in New Hazelton. Recently renovated, it is spotless, clean and well appointed. It has all the niceties like, Wifi, TV and... More

Clean, basic motel. Staff were only too happy to oblige. Towels were thin and on the small side. Strong smell in unit could have been cleaning materials, or from a previous smoker in a non-smoking unit. We cooked excellent steak from the adjacent grocery store on the motel's gas barbecue. Utensils, plates and scullery generously provided by the motel manager.... More

The first thing I noticed were the well done, home-made signs advertising the motel on the way into New Hazelton. When I arrived i though, "this doesn't look Like much on the outside.". I met Barry, the owner, who checked me in and paid attention to give me a downstairs room since I was riding a motorcycle, nice thought. The... More

I was impressed initially by the signs advertising the motel on my way into Hazleton while traveling southbound on highway 37. When I arrived I met the owner who gave freely of his time to tell me of local historic sites as well as interesting and quality places to eat. The room was spotless with up to date amenities representing... More

We were driving through Canada to Alaska, and had spent the last 3 nights sleeping in our car. We were READY for a bed and a hot shower, and we got both at the Bulkley Valley Motel. We stopped at the Bulkley after looking at a more pricey room at a different motel that was horrendous. Our room at the... More

My wife, daughter, and I stayed at the Bulkley Valley Motel on the 15th September 2011, whilst on a driving holiday from Vancouver to Whitehorse on the Stewart Cassiar Highway. We were visitors from England and this was just our second overnight stop on the trip. We were VERY impressed with the motel. The room was spotless, the bathroom was... More

Great to hear you made it to Salmon Glacier! We enjoyed having you stay with us and are thrilled that you enjoyed it so much. Don't let too many years pass before trekking through northern BC again. Cheers! More

Do NOT be deceived by the somewhat tacky exterior, or the location; inside, the rooms are excellent, definitely up to par. Having stayed in some chain hotels recently, this motel stands out as cared for and modernized. Great value.

It is SO true - the exterior is still in the category of "tacky" which we hope to address in coming years - but where we have invested is in the rooms. Thanks for seeing past our "first impression" and giving us a go. The solid wood furniture and new carpets, plus the completely rebuilt bathrooms seem to be getting... More

A lovely place. From the outside, we thought it looked the nicest of all the places. My wife noted it was the highest priced of the motels. Since they were not that far apart and it is small, I thought the slightly higher price indicated quality. The manager was very friendly and helpful in suggesting a place to eat. It... More
