Stayed at this so called Hotel with two friends for 3 days on a coach tour.The rooms were dark and in need of redecorating. We have just returned from a 4-night stay at the Minerva, where we found the staff to be pretty unfriendly on the whole. Stayed at this hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of October 2006 having booked through tour company. The room was very dingy with peeling wallpaper which looked like tartan wrapping paper - well past its decorating date..... plaster was loose and falling out around the door frame, indeed the door frame was loose also. I have stayed at the minerva on several occassions, between 2000 and 2004. I never found anything except friendly hospitality. From manager Pierre Luigi, to all staff, the sense of friendliness is quite unsurpassed. Hygiene is a number 1 priority here.
