Beautiful, thoughtfully designed accommodation, with true indoor/outdoor flow! The two cottages are quite private and the owners take every effort to make guests comfortable and to find and recommend places and activities of specific individual interest. We, for instance, are bird watchers, and Wendy arranged a great birding guide and also offered good advice for the rest of our N... More

WOW. the lodges are fully equiped and modern but feel like they belong in this beautiful natural haven. We booked for two nights and had to stay for 3 we couldn't tear ourselves away. We saw the platypus on sunset down at the swimming hole and the water dragon frightened the living daylights out us when it took off to... More

My partner and I spent three wonderful days at this beautifully appointed retreat. The location in Julatten is fabulous for those wishing to get away from beach crowds or heat. During our stay the air was clear and the temperature was just magic. Our lodge (one of two) was cleverly designed and the appointments showed that no expense had been... More

Away from the heat of the coast, just half an hours drive into the mountains from Port Douglas you will find Sweetwater Lodge, where you can relax in the cool of the rainforest air. I spent a wonderful few days at this stylish retreat in one of the architect designed Lodges, with its handmade wooden fitted interior, and pure cotton... More

Welcomed by our hosts on arrival, who were very helpful and left us to enjoy the surroundings. View of the bush from the lounge room was awesome and had fun exploring the river the next day with the kids. Ventured out over the week to see the Daintree, Cape Tribulation and Mossman Gorge. Even though it was humid at those... More

The contemporary and very stylish individual lodges are surrounded by the beautiful Australian bushland with expansive views of mountain ranges. The hosts, Glenn and Wendy have established beautiful tropical rainforest gardens that abound with birds. This is a wonderful place to escape from one's work life... More

Sweetwater Lodge is truly special. We've stayed there twice now, it's an ideal weekend getaway for a memorable occasion, even better to stay longer and really absorb the tranquility, ambience and magnificent scenery of this unique place. The distinctive cabins are stylish and comfortable, yet quirky and attractively designed to be very much in keeping with the natural environment. The... More

Well this place is something else. Actually my initation to Sweetwater lodge was probably not in the true sprit of what your hosts Glen & Wendy had in mind when they lovingly developed this hidden gem. I was traveling up north with a mate! Sweetwater is absolute relaxation but probably better enjoyed with your partner than a fishing buddy. The... More
