We had the most amazing holiday at Six Senses Laamu. The staff were incredible and were really personal and would go the extra mile to look after us. Special shout out to our GEM, Tanny, who was exceptional! She was friendly, professional and gave the best food recommendations. Special mention to Ollie and Warung who always looked out for us and went above and beyond. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and can’t wait to go back one day!

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I had a wonderful, indulgent 6 night holiday at this “barefoot” luxurious, remote island resort. Apart from the sheer natural beauty, crystal clear water and abundant marine life, our lasting impression will be the incredible attentive staff and surprisingly, the quality of the food. The F&B manager, Ollie, is overseeing a world class affair. Shah was our assigned point of contact or “GEM” as the resort calls these semi-personal butlers. Shah really was a gem and made our stay so smooth and relaxing. I signed up daily with the resident Tropic Surf team and as a periodic, intermediate surfer, was incredibly impressed with their professional hands on and caring approach, not to mention the variety of uncrowded waves. A big shout out to Josh, Fiona and Saif. We also took full advantage of the spa and had some incredible massages, thanks to Michael and his team. Six Senses Laamu very much exceeded our expectation and I would highly recommend it and will hopefully return again.

We had a lovely time at the six senses Lemu. We stayed for seven nights, lovely location, very friendly staff. We have a one-year-old son who went to the kids club every day we hired a babysitter and six senses always gave us the same person, Hasner, my son’s new favourite! She was amazing with him, very gentle, very kind very patient. She was one of the best parts of our trip as we were actually able to spend time together and not worry about him. Nami at the ice cream shop was also lovely as there’s free complimentary ice cream all throughout the day we were very kindly upgraded to one of the best beach villas on the island. We had plenty of space and the team were really happy to put up a fence around the pool to stop us on falling in which was really kind. rikke I will GEM was amazing as well, very helpful and always at hand

We had a great time at Six Senses Laamu. We have both been to the Maldives previously however this trip was the best by far. A highlight for Us was sitting on the deck of our windward villa and watching turtles surface for air in front of us. Snorkeling on the house reef was fantastic. We were lucky enough to see dolphins swim past our breakfast table in the mornings as well as Stingrays and small Sharks. The Spa was amazing and The staff we very helpful and friendly. Rikki our Guest liaison was amazing and was always on hand to book us trips and dining reservations. Thank You Rikki and Six Senses - it was a great holiday.

Six Senses Laamu is an incredible resort - we had the most fantastic family holiday there. We were so well looked after by all the team and the staff were 5 star (on hand with a smile to help with requests at any time). The resort itself is pristine and the villa was stunning. The House Reef is amazing and very accessible just 10 or so meters off the Chill Bar. The MUI Team at the Shell are excellent and very knowledgeable. The Den was great for the children. The food was delicious. I can't speak highly enough of everything that the team are doing at Six Senses Laamu!

I had high expectations for my first holiday in the Maldives and I have to say Six Senses team delivered above and beyond a dream holiday for me and my partner. The service and experiences provided were absolutely incredible, from private Island picnic to jet ski adventure to being able to swim with the sea turtles, just amazing... Something everyone should experience for themselves. From the first moment on we stepped on the Island we were super impressed with the level of service and care we were met with by the employees and locals, all truly wonderful people. Our villa was always cleaned spotless every day and was very comfortable with little luxuries. Food on the Island was also delicious with a great variety of options and restaurants, always super fresh local ingredients. This goes without saying but the scenery and nature around the island just wow, you certainly won't need any filters for your pictures. I don't really have anything negative to say about our stay at the Six Senses Laamu, we are already planning to come back here hopefully next year. Special thanks to our GEM Rikke who looked after us during our stay on the island and made our holiday truly an experience for a lifetime, she is amazing!

We just came back from an 8-night stay at Laamu and can only echo the wide range of 5-star reviews to what is a truly special place. We've had experiences with other Six Senses properties before and were so glad to see the overwhelmingly positive experience repeated. New direct water plane connection: We were delayed coming out of London and the team kindly held the water plane for us by 1hr to ensure we avoided a 4hr layover in Male, which we greatly appreciated. The new SS-owned water plane should be a gamechanger for people who previously saw the domestic airline + boat connection from Male to Laamu as an obstacle to their stay. Room: we stayed in beach pool villa 83, which we loved (we later found out this is the only villa with full view onto its own somewhat secluded beach from every room (including the outdoor shower) and had a great combination of sunrise/sunset vistas..). Slightly different to what is pictured for the room category on the website but a very positive surprise. The villa (and resort generally) definitely did not show that the property opened in 2011 and we figured the engineering team has done a good job at fixing any signs of wear and tear over time. GEM: Thohir did an amazing job in ensuring we had no unfulfilled request and understood the full potential of things to do at Laamu. He was available 24/7 and helped us with daily diving/surfing/kayaking/food planning and other requests throughout the day. Thohir is a genuinely great guy and truly enriched our experience - especially as we had hoped to be assigned to a local Maldivian as a GEM who can share insights into life on neighbouring islands, how Laamu works hand-in-hand with the local communities, etc. (all of which Thohir did gladly). Food/Beverage: Much better here than other comparable experiences (at other six senses/Aman/comparable properties) we've made where offerings were more limited and felt repetitive after a few days. We had a total of 7 dinners on the island with 7 different themes/cuisines (i.e. ate differently every night) across 3 (of 5+ available) different venues. We chose to pass on several dining options given lack of time during our stay. Ollie (F&B manager) briefly checked in on us on 5 or 6 of those nights and it was a pleasure to interact with him and his entire team. We almost felt there was (positively) too much breadth of offering to the point where you had to really think about what to eat given you wouldn't get a second chance to eat from the same menu/buffet choice. We could have easily stayed another week without running out of different food options to try. Diving: We did our open water and adventure dive certificate with Anne's fantastic team during our stay, across a total of 8 open water and 4 confined water sessions. We had incredible dives, seeing the most beautiful coral ecosystems, 5+ types of sharks, manta rays (even outside of peak season), torpedo/sting rays and plenty of turtles/octopus. We dived with Izu/Judith and Anoof who are all incredibly nice and great at their jobs. Izu - also a local Maldivian - wasn't just a highly skilled and patient dive instructor/guide but also acted as a quasi tourist guide inbetween dives, showing us around local islands and sharing insights into the Maldivian way of life, politics, etc. Surfing: We spent a day with Fiona/Josh in an experience fully in line with the rest of our stay. Josh went above and beyond to ensure we get a positive surf experience in the span of just a few hours (including towing us / our surfboards to the waves when our shoulders gave up to ensure we can keep going). Overall sustainability: It was our first time in the Maldives and we were thrilled to see the positive sustainability approach at Laamu compared to what one finds doing basic online research on other, comparable hotels. Both in terms of caring for the environment (MUI projects to plant coral, monitor health of local flora/fauna) but also the focus on developing careers of locals (who e.g. may have started working in the F&B team and later transitioned to dive instructors when offered upskill training) and funding sustainable local projects. We look forward to returning to Laamu (& hopefully seeing this experience repeated at other SS properties)!

The staff on the island is also really fantastic. I have never met so many nice people in one week. Rikke, our gem, ensured that everything was taken care of down to the last detail. Surfing with the friendliest couple, Josh and Fiona, was also fantastic. Highly recommended! The GM, Marteyne, has turned this island into a magical place where we certainly hope to return again.
